Research Interest

My research Interest focus on designing synthetic functional molecules that can interact with various analytes/bioanalytes (DNA, peptides, proteins) to understand their function and can compute change in optical signals logically as smart molecular devices. In addition, I have interest in covalent conjugation of peptide(s)/DNA(s) with drugs and their targeted delivery (for diagnosis and therapy) to melanoma/wound/lesion disorder tissues that are located at various depth of skin.

Miniaturized Pattern Generating Sensor

Pattern-generating fluorescent molecule can interact with various analytes at different binding affinity to produce multiple fluorescence patterns using their inherent photophysical properties. These molecules have potential for medical diagnosis.

Miniaturized Information Processing Device

Pattern-generating molecule can act as miniaturized information processing device such as keypad lock, encoder-decoder, performing steganography etc. Recently, to hide (encrypt) and reveal (decryption) a set of data was achieved by using a pattern-generating chromophore that have ability to interact with multiple analytes as input and generate absorption pattern as output signals.

Targeted Photodynamic Therapy

Photodynamic therapy is a non-invasive module that is driven by photosensitizer based drug and specific wavelength of light. By covalently conjugating these drug molecules to a peptide i.e. a derivative of melano-stimulating hormone (MSH) that direct towards melanocotin-1 (MC1) receptor which over-expressed in melanoma cells, more targeted and less collateral damage was achieved using LED light of precise wavelengths. This therapeutic module has potential to treat lentigo maligna melanoma.
